The bat cave...

Hey, Can I borrow some money?
Back to Full Blog

Today I was buried in work. I had to do 3 quotes today, meet with an attorney, go to the warehouse and then over to the new job to make sure the set up was going smooth.

Basically, I didn't have any time to screw off. That was fine with me. I can handle it, but when people refuse to leave me alone it begins to get messy.

Around 7:30 my phone rings. I look at it and see the three letters that mean this day is going to be one of hell. It says, MOM.

Nope, not answering it, not going to happen...you can't make me. How the phone wound up in my hand, by my ear with the answer button pressed...I don't know, but it went something like this.

Me: Hello?
Mom: Hi, are you busy?
Me: I always am busy, what do you need?

I know she needs something, because this is the only time that she bothers to call.

Mom: I just need a little money.
Me: I don't have time for this today. I'll call you tomorrow.

And since I hung up, I thought that was the end of the conversation. Let me emphasize the, "I thought".

She called back 12 times, in the next 45 minutes. Each time I rejected the phone call, and send it to voice mail. The first message was semi-angry, and the last message she was screaming her lungs out.

Then I made a mistake. I was getting a call, and I told the person who I was on the phone with that I would get back to them with the answer, and I had to go because I was getting a call. Without even thinking I answered.

I am still kicking my own ass for answering.

Me: Hello?
Mom: Don't hang up on me again!
Me: Don't ask your kids for money because you are irresponsible.
Mom: You know I wouldn't ask if I didn't need it!
Me: Yes, you would, and you shouldn't need it, you don't even have to pay for half of your household. What could you have blown the money you spend regarding him on this quickly?
Mom: A cruise.
Me: You're unbelievable. I don't have time for this today. I will call you tomorrow.

That is where I hung up, and blocked her number. I called my brother and asked him how much money she gave him when he came up here.

I knew she had given him money, because I gave it to her. I was planning on having to give m brother money, but she wanted to give him money. I didn't care. I gave her the money that I would have given him, so she could give it and he would think it was from her.

She gave him HALF of the money I had given her to give to him. Don't think I wont bring that up when I talk to her next time.
